Settlers3D Review

In development by Jason Fugate for almost 18 months, S3D (short for Settlers3D) is now generally available as a 1.0 release. This release is the culmination of hundreds of hours of development effort along with incredible testing and support given by dozens of volunteer playtesters. S3D 1.0.0 has been played thousands of times and is as bug-free as can possibly be. All new development will now move to the Seafarers expansion, Sea3D.

S3D is a computer version of the extremely popular board game by the same name. It has full network support over TCP/IP, hotseat games, tracking games, stats, game history, OpenGL graphics, player and game databases, full help system, and much more. It started in October of 2001 as a way for the developer to statistically figure out who of his friends was the best Settlers player and has since grown to its current status.

Sea3D, now in BETA, builds on S3D by incorporating the popular Seafarers expansion into the game. Available to the public for the first time, Sea3D 1.0.2 has five Seafarers maps included, along with all the new rules needed to play the expanded game.
